As
we start to celebrate our
Country's independence this
month, we need to stop and thank
the brave men & women who have &
are sacrificing for our freedom.
The surviving members of the
"Flying Tigers", who
served our Country during WWII
in The 14th USAAF in the 529th
Fighter Squadron, The 311th Grp.,
is having a Squadron Reunion at
The Doubletree Hotel at Disney,
from September 18 - 21st of this
year.
I became acquainted with this
fine group whenever I had the
honor of meeting Mr. Elmer
Youngblood back in 1999. Mr.
Elmer passed away in February,
2003 but his long-term caregiver
(who lived with him for many
years), Tracy Graham, has
maintained a close relationship
with the surviving members of
his squad and continues to
attend their reunions. Tracy is
one of my best friends and one
of the kindest people I know.
She has a soft spot in her heart
for these WWII veterans and has
offered to host their reunion
this year.
While they are purchasing their
own rooms & providing for their
own transportation to Orlando,
Tracy is taking on a lot of time
& expense to make this a
memorable year for them. Besides
the one night that the group is
dining out, Tracy is providing
breakfast, lunch, dinner, &
refreshments (including
alcohol), to all of the
veterans, and the members of
their families, who attend.
We are raising money to help
make this reunion a very special
time for these brave men and
their families. Many of us (her
friends) are preparing food,
acting as bartenders, & helping
to transport these American
Heroes. But, we are in need of
financial donations so that we
can give them a reunion to
remember.
If you would like to donate,
please contact me at
Sandy@RealEstateGirls.net or
at 407-592-HOME (4663) or send a
check to...

There will also be a donation
box at the Century 21 booth
during the 4th of July
festivities.
Thank you so much for your help!
